Friday Five

1. If you were a manger in the World Series, and you had a player like Nick Swisher, who has produced, but is in a long slump, would you, let him play through it, or bench him? Explain your reasons.

2. Now that the NFL is retro-uniform crazy, which team's uniforms do you wish could back to the old ones.

3. Have you watched any of the opening week's NBA games? If so, which one?

4. What was the best World Series performance you've ever seen?

5. Which player's odd twitches drove you nuts?

OK, I'll start off.

1. I'd bench him. You don't have the luxury of letting him play through it. I know he belted a million home runs and can work a walk. Still, he swings and misses way too often now.

2. The NE Patriots. I miss those Paul Revere ready to snap helmets.

3. Nope.

4. Probably Jackson in 78. Though Morris in 91 was pretty special too.

5. Jeff Hornachek's face rub before every foul shot. So weird it made me uncomfortable.

1. Bench him

2. Chargers

3. Nein

4. Jackson in 78

5. I like CC, but taking off his hat and mopping his brow after EVERY bitch is the closest I can come to finding a twitch that is annoying

I'd play him. Slumps can turn on a dime, and he's clearly better than Hairston Jr. You gotta play him. Especially in the home games where you are allowed a DH.

I agree...Chargers

3. Have you watched any of the opening week's NBA games? If so, which one?

Of course. Lakers-Clippers.

4. What was the best World Series performance you've ever seen?

Cliff Lee was pretty great last night, off the top of my head.

5. Which player's odd twitches drove you nuts?

Sergio Garcia's if I actually watched golf.

It was Jackson in 77, if you're talking about the 3 consecutive dingers.

Best pitching performance... Jack Morris pitched a ten inning shutout in Game 7 of the '91 series. Pretty freakin' epic.
